As a general update, John and Elizabeth have re-entered the public sphere since the end of his campaign. John is working with Moveon, SEIU and other progressive organizations to explain to the public how the money spent on the Iraq war prevents us from addressing economic injustice in the United States. The logic behind this campaign is very similar to Martin Luther King's critique of the Vietnam war and it is an extension of the policies John best announced at his 2007 speech at Riverside Church on Martin Luther King Day -- military spending makes it difficult/impossible to address poverty and basic economic issues at home. John has continued to advocate on behalf of those who are not given a fair shake by our country. For example, John and Danny Glover recently marched on behalf of the unionizing efforts of workers in North Carolina who are facing unfair working conditions.
