The Broadway Democrats present a forum discussing the recent Pew Center on the States Report, One in 100: Behind Bars in America 2008

  • Why are there such great racial/ethnic disparities in prisons?
  • What are the social and budgetary costs of incarcerating so many of our people?
  • What can we as political activists do about it?

The forum will be moderated by Paula Diamond Roman and will include:

  • Assemblyman Jeffrion Aubry, Chair, Committee on Corrections (invited)
  • Robert Gangi, Executive director, Correctional Association
  • Christine Pahigian, Director of Criminal Justice Services, National Center on Institutions and Alternatives

Broadway Democrats is the official Democratic organization for Morningside Heights and the adjacent blocks to the south and east. The Club works to protect and promote a progressive Democratic agenda.
