Thursday, May 1, 2008
Union Square
Noon - Gathering
4:00 PM - March and Rally

May Dayoriginated in the United States when native and immigrant workers united to fight for the 8-hour day. Today we are calling all workers to come together—not just to fight for survival, but to fight for better lives, and control over our time and our lives.

The Union Square March and Rally will be participated in by many groups and unions.

DFNYC has also been invited to unite with workers from Flor De Mayo, Saigon Grill, Ollie's, nail salons and hundreds of other workers for Equality Rights for all Workers.  This march will show unity between native-born and immigrant workers and will call for an equal standard and equal rights for all working people in this country.

Join Break the Chains Alliance and National Mobilization Against Sweat Shops at a 2:00 pm Rally at Roosevelt Park In Chinatown (Grand St. between Forsyth and Chryster St.) (B/D Train to Grand St. Station)  3:00 pm March to Unon Square to demand repeal of the Employer Sanctions Provision, Legislate Equal Rights for All Workers, and Establish a genuine path to citizenship for the undocumented.
