Obama and McCain debate on Staten Island

Congressman Jerry Nadler and former Pataki aide Greg Menken pinch hit for Presidential candidates in 2PM Sunday October 19 debate sponsored by Congregation B'nai Jeshurun Men's Club

(Staten Island) The October 15 presidential debate between Senators Barack Obama (D-IL) and John McCain (R-AZ) will not be the final 2008 election cycle presidential debate.

Democratic Congressman Jerry Nadler (NY 8 Congressional District Manhattan/Brooklyn) and former Pataki aid and Republican Jewish Coalition Executive Director Greg Menken will sub for the actual presidential candidates in a 2 PM Sunday October 19 debate at Congregation B'nai Jeshurun (CBJ), 275 Martling Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314. CBJ's Men's Club is sponsoring the event.

Nadler and Menken have previously debated each other as presidential candidate surrogates.

The debate moderators will be Men's Club President and active Republican Ronnie Ben-Aron and Democratic Media Consultant and County Committee Member Roy Moskowitz.

About Congregation B'nai Jeshurun: CBJ is affiliated with Judaism's Conservative movement, which seeks to conserve and maintain traditional Jewish religious practices in a modern context. It is the only Staten Island Jewish house of worship formally belonging to the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, an umbrella organization representing close to 800 Synagogues affiliated with the movement.
