Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." If this is true, then Senator Ted Kennedy never truly died. If there was one word to describe him, it would probably be "outspoken." From the time he became involved in politics to the time he passed away late Tuesday at the age of 77, he was always fighting hard for those less represented. His accomplishments are countless, dealing with everything from civil rights to health care reform. In memory of Senator Ted Kennedy, please visit his website: http://tedkennedy.org/. Thank you. |

Saturday, August 29th, Walks Converge for a Rally in Times Square, NYC
On August 29th, 2009 hundreds—maybe thousands of people will march from different neighborhoods of New York City to rally in Times Square.
New Yorkers and people from all over the United States will gather to show Congress that we need meaningful healthcare reform with a strong public option. We believe that legislation with anything less than a strong public option is unacceptable. According to Howard Dean, "Any legislation without the choice of a public option is only insurance reform and not the healthcare reform America needs."
Join DFNYC and all these groups and individuals on Saturday.
11 am Walks start (See below for a location near you),
2 pm Unity Rally at 42nd Street and 7th Avenue
