Written by Josh Silverstein
Tuesday, 30 September 2008

TRAVEL TO PENNSYLVANIA THIS SATURDAY OCTOBER 4TH AT 8 AM SHARP!

It's October and we are in the homestretch of the 2008 Presidential Campaign! In order to make the most impact in the race, we will carpool from the Bayside Long Island Railroad station to crucial swing-state Pennsylvania to campaign for Obama/Biden.

This will be a carpool so each car will be required to split the costs of gas and tolls. Each participant should expect to pay between $15-$20.

Please respond with your name, phone number and e-mail.

YOU MUST REPLY AND CONFIRM IN ORDER TO SECURE A SEAT FOR THE TRIP!

Please indicate if you are willing to drive and if you have a GPS device. We will leave Bayside at 8am and return at approximately 8pm.

I'm looking forward to seeing you! Steve

Following up on the success of our letter writing activities at the September Linkups a few weeks ago, DFNYC Merle Mc Eldowney is hosting another letter-writing party tomorrow night, Thursday, September 25th. We have a list of members of Democracy for America that live in Ohio. Because they are already members of a progressive organization, they are likely voting Democrat. Our goal is to get them to volunteer by encouraging them to sign up for Obama's neighbor-to-neighbor program, which will give them a list of about 25 people in their community to contact.

The DNC, chaired by Gov. Howard Dean, is actively working to elect Obama and other Democrats this fall. DFA members in Ohio or anywhere else can also get involved in the DNC's neighborhood volunteer program. Both programs are a reflection of DNC Chairman Howard Dean's philosophy that one of the best way to get out the vote for the Democrats is to have local volunteers making voter contacts.

Here are the links for the programs:
