DFNYC members voted unanimously to endorse Jimmy Dahroug for New York's 3rd State Senate District.

Jimmy ran in 2004 against incumbent Republican Ceasar Trunzo in Suffolk County on Long Island. After earning an impressive 40% of the vote with a grassroots campaign, he went to work for the Administration of Steve Levy, the Suffolk County Executive, as a County Executive Assistant for community affairs and intergovernmental relations. He ran again in 2006, gaining a higher percentage, even after a contested Democratic primary. Jimmy was endorsed by Democracy for America in both races and many DFNYCers joined Long Island volunteers to canvas and phonebank.
