DFA Endorses Jimmy Dahroug

Democracy for America has joined Democracy for NYC in endorsing Jimmy Dahroug, the Democratic candidate who will be challenging longtime Republican Caesar Trunzo for Long Island's 3rd State Senate seat. Below is the e-mail sent out by DFA chairman Jim Dean:

Right now, the NY Senate is only two seats from a Democratic Majority. After years of Republican control, this year we are going to take it back.

Jimmy Dahroug is working hard to make sure change happens. His people-powered campaign for State Senate will lead Democrats to victory in Albany this November. But Jimmy needs our help to win.

Join me in supporting Jimmy Dahroug right now.

Jimmy's number one priority is to reform the broken system in Albany. While the Albany tradition of backroom deals continues every piece of progressive legislation hangs in the balance. Jimmy knows that leadership is driven by the grassroots, not special interests or big developers.

Health care for all, environmental protection, and economic empowerment are at the core of a New York State Democratic majority. While our education system is at a dangerous crossroads, Jimmy will fight to reform school funding to provide a solid education for every child.

Jimmy knows what it means to work two jobs or bus tables to pay for school because he did it himself. He understands that the needs of working families are not political talking points -- for Jimmy -- they're personal.

DFA members are already on the ground fighting for Jimmy, knocking on doors, raising money, and recruiting volunteers.

Please join me on the campaign today.

Thank you for everything you do.

Jim Dean
Chair
