We understand that there are DFNYC members on both sides of the issue of the Lower East Side rezoning plan. We are posting this event by the Coalition to Protect Chinatown to inform our members. To learn more about this issue, see the article links below.

A message from the Coalition to Protect Chinatown/LES:

The Coalition will be holding a protest to demand the city government:

Stop the plan and replace it with a plan that will include and protect the entire community by limiting building height,
Provide low-income housing in all new developments, not phony "affordable" housing.

Wednesday, August 13th, 9:15 am
Outside the City Planning Commission's Hearing at
40 Washington Square South

Bloomberg's Rezoning Agenda:

Bulldoze Lower East Side and Chinatown,
Kick out small businesses, working families and people of color,
Make room for luxury high rises.
