About Democracy for NYC
Democracy for NYC (DFNYC) is committed to the ideals espoused by Democracy for America, the organization founded by Howard Dean, and the national network of local coalition groups dedicated to the same.
We work both locally and nationally to ensure that fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates are elected at all levels of government. We develop innovative ways to advocate for the issues that matter to our members and support legislation which has a positive effect in our communities. We promote transparency and ethical practices in government. We engage people in the political process and give them the tools to organize, communicate, mobilize, and enact change on the local, state, and national level.

More details on the party: Click here for the Facebook page! We're bringing back the letter-writing we did during the 2012 elections to help change the conversation on Obamacare. At Living Liberally's holiday party, we'll eat drink, meet interesting people, and stuff envelops with the truth on Obamacare. Logistics: You'll be able to sent out a brief friendly note to a Democracy for America supporter in a purple state, and enclose clear info sheets with Myths vs. Facts on Obamacare. As our fellow progressives in other parts of the country get ready for holiday gatherings, it will be helpful to have the facts on the Affordable Care Act, especially as we battle the right wing in the 2014 elections. The right wing is continuing to spread lies and half-truths about the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. "Obamacare".
We have names and addresses of key voters in the 2014 elections, and we will send them information about the positive aspects of Obamacare. While the mainstream media focuses on controversy, we'll focus on the truth. We did Obamacare phonebanks for the 2012 elections - now it's time for Obamacare letter writing in the 2014 elections.
Materials and sample letters will be provided.
