About Democracy for NYC
Democracy for NYC (DFNYC) is committed to the ideals espoused by Democracy for America, the organization founded by Howard Dean, and the national network of local coalition groups dedicated to the same.
We work both locally and nationally to ensure that fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates are elected at all levels of government. We develop innovative ways to advocate for the issues that matter to our members and support legislation which has a positive effect in our communities. We promote transparency and ethical practices in government. We engage people in the political process and give them the tools to organize, communicate, mobilize, and enact change on the local, state, and national level.

Please join our friends at Manhattan Young Democrats as they celebrate the season with their annual holiday party/fundraiser. MYD's are one of the local progressive groups here in NYC that DFNYC has always worked closely with and shared common cause over the years. This is their big event of the year. Tuesday December 10th from 7 to 11 p.m., with an open bar for the first two hours and a live DJ. There is a $20 admission which helps MYD fund their operations, and if you are younger than age 36, it gets you membership for the year 2014. If you are 36 or older, your money just gets you a great party and the chance to support a terrific group.
