About Democracy for NYC
Democracy for NYC (DFNYC) is committed to the ideals espoused by Democracy for America, the organization founded by Howard Dean, and the national network of local coalition groups dedicated to the same.
We work both locally and nationally to ensure that fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates are elected at all levels of government. We develop innovative ways to advocate for the issues that matter to our members and support legislation which has a positive effect in our communities. We promote transparency and ethical practices in government. We engage people in the political process and give them the tools to organize, communicate, mobilize, and enact change on the local, state, and national level.

Presidential Debate - Place to Watch in NYC |

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump square off again on Wednesday, October 19th. Our progressive friends at Housing Works are hosting a party for the final debate at their bookstore on Crosby Street (off Houston Street) in Soho, catered by Six Points Brewery.

They will have a comedy show beforehand and show the debate on the big screen.
Tickets: $8 at the door, ticket price includes free beer. Housing Works is a nonprofit that is mostly staffed by volunteers. Revenue goes to fight against AIDS and homelessness.
If this debate makes you ill, the bookstore itself will be open until 11:30 while the debate is playing, so you can always distract yourself by taking in some of their fine collection.
