Democracy for NYC (DFNYC) is committed to the ideals espoused by Democracy for America, the organization founded by Howard Dean, and the national network of local coalition groups dedicated to the same.

EndorsedLogo PlasticWe work both locally and nationally to ensure that fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates are elected at all levels of government. We develop innovative ways to advocate for the issues that matter to our members and support legislation which has a positive effect in our communities.  We promote transparency and ethical practices in government.  We engage people in the political process and give them the tools to organize, communicate, mobilize, and enact change on the local, state, and national level.

DEADLINE - Register to Vote in NYC

The deadline to register to vote in NY - so you can vote in the Nov. 8th election - is Friday October 14th.  lf you still need to register, download a ballot at this page at the BOE, or stop by 32 Broadway in Manhattan (downtown near Exchange Place) during normal business hours. Please do not put it off until the last day.  If you are mailing in your form, it has to be postmarked Oct. 14th. If you are here at our website, there's a good chance you are already registered. Know anyone who needs to register? Perhaps someone who recently moved to NY and can't vote in their previous state?
