Zephyr Teachout, candidate for governor, and her running mate Tim Wu are scheduled to stop by our July Linkup!

When: Wednesday, July 2, 7-8:30pm.

Where:  Linkup will be in the back room at Bunga's Den, 137 West 14th Street between 6th & 7th Avenues.

Feedback from our members:

In recent newsletters, we asked our members for their opinion on whether Zephyr Teachout, a law professor at Fordham and strong advocate for full public financing of campaigns, should challenge Gov. Cuomo in the Democratic primary, after getting 41% of the vote at the Working Families Party's recent convention.  This wasn't a vote about who should be governor, just the simpler question of whether she should run; a matter of ballot access. We gave some arguments for and against, and made clear that DFNYC has been impressed by Gov. Cuomo on some key issues. The overwhelming response from our members was that Zephyr should run.

Endorsement:

We are excited to host Zephyr at Linkup, where you will likely be able to sign a petition to get her on the ballot.  We have not made any endorsement in this race, and if and when we do, it will be a vote of our members. We are also in touch with Gov. Cuomo's campaign, and we are planning to invite him to a Linkup as well.
