EndorsedLogo PlasticWe work both locally and nationally to ensure that fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates are elected at all levels of government. We develop innovative ways to advocate for the issues that matter to our members and support legislation which has a positive effect in our communities.  We promote transparency and ethical practices in government.  We engage people in the political process and give them the tools to organize, communicate, mobilize, and enact change on the local, state, and national level.

DFNYC endorsed candidates win big!

Update: Congrats to Letitia "Tish" James, endorsed by DFNYC for winning the runoff election for Public Advocate on Oct. 1st!  We look forward to working with Tish in her new role. It was a hard fought campaign and both Dan Squadron and Tish James have many supporters in DFNYC.  We look forward to working with Dan on progressive issues in Albany.

Democracy for New York City is very proud of our endorsed candidate slate.  The following DFNYC endorsed candidates won their primaries on Tuesday, Sept. 10th:

Bill Deblasio-- Mayor
Scott Stringer- Comptroller
Gale Brewer- Manhattan Borough president
Eric Adams- Brooklyn Borough president
Letitia James- Public Advocate
Antonio Reynoso- City Council
Mark Levine- City Council

We are especially happy that our longtime DFNYC member and former Queens linkup host, Costa Constantinides won his primary in Astoria for the city council.  Way to go Costa!

DFNYC was also very happy to see a couple of fine progressive candidates whom we did not endorse, but who we were with in spirit, win yesterday  Carlos Menchaca for city council and Ken Thompson in the Brooklyn DA's race.

Tuesday was a great day for progressives in New York City.  And now the work continues!  On to November!
